Look Twice and Save a Life
Two motorcyclists from our community are now in the hospital, instead of their homes tonight. Why?
Because another driver just simply did not look twice.
Tuesday evening, I was in a meeting preparing with dedicated volunteers to plan for the annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride in May; I leave town for 5 days, return this evening, unpack, turn on the TV for the 5pm news, and this is what I learn.
This crash was 100% preventable; the pickup driver turned left in front of the motorcycle. Motorcycles are *not* invisible!! We need greater motorcycle awareness statewide, every day, all year long.
It’s that simple.
Sunday was an incredibly beautiful and unusually warm, so as the weather continues to warm up, more motorcycles will be on the road.
Please, safe a life; take a few more seconds, and always look twice before turning.
I really wish only the very best for these folks in their physical recovery from their injuries and hope they have a swift and full recovery, and return to their normal lives !!
